Jordan Beech
Director & Support Worker
During the past seven years, my professional journey in the disability sector has been both fulfilling and transformative. I have a passion for making a positive impact in people lives which led me to this field, where I've had the privilege of working with individuals with diverse needs, behaviours, and abilities.
From the outset, I embraced the challenges, understanding the importance of creating inclusive and supportive environments. What sets my approach apart is a genuine love for my job. My passion for sport and recreation has led me to build this space for people with disabilities to come and find their passion too!

I have a passion for supporting others to build their skills and achieve their goals. I feel everyone has the right to live their best quality of life, feel confident within themselves, and maintain independence. I’m passionate about disability support and have worked in the sector for three years. I love seeing the smiles on participants' faces when they achieve their goals and try new things. Building positive connections is important to me. Growing up in the Riverland, I know how vital it is to feel part of the community, and I hope to bring that sense of belonging to my work with Riverland Active.

I enjoy being a support worker because I love working directly with people and helping those in our community. It’s important for participants to be active and involved in the community, as it creates a sense of belonging, builds confidence in social settings, and encourages a healthy, active lifestyle.

I'm passionate about helping others and enjoy working with people. After many years in hospitality, I feel fortunate to now support participants in building skills, forming connections, and achieving their goals. Seeing their smiles when they try new things and embrace challenges is incredibly rewarding. Staying active and getting outdoors, especially in our beautiful Riverland community, is essential for well-being. The sunshine and fresh air, along with the connections we build, truly do wonders for us. We're lucky to have such a vibrant, supportive community that encourages us to stay engaged and energised.

I love helping others, especially in a fun environment. Riverland Active provides this through diverse programs that support different hobbies and strengths while making every day unique.
Being active in the community is a great way to meet like-minded people, expand social circles, and show you care about the region. Having been heavily involved in sport my whole life, I’ve found it’s an easy way to socialise in a fun, goal-driven setting. -

Suchaya

I love being a support worker in the Riverland because of the strong sense of community and connection. Working as part of a supportive team benefits both us as workers and our participants. I'm passionate about helping others achieve their goals, and it's incredibly fulfilling to witness positive changes in their lives, such as growing confidence or simply sharing a smile.
Being active in the community plays a crucial role in this growth, helping participants feel included, build meaningful relationships, and become more independent in their daily lives.

Aaron
Support Worker/Mentor
I try to put myself in their shoes and treat each participant the way I would want my own loved ones to be treated. I value the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others who may not always be able to defend themselves, and to bring more happiness into their lives. It’s important that they feel heard and taken seriously.
I believe it’s vital for their physical and mental health to be active and engaged in a community, to feel that they truly belong in the wider world.

I love being able to put a smile on our participants’ faces, seeing them interact with others and have fun is very rewarding to me!
I understand how important physical activity is for our overall health and mental wellbeing, it gives us a great sense of confidence and is an awesome stress relief. Team-based games also help to build our social capacity, assisting in many other aspects of our lives alongside community engagement. This can really uphold our sense of belonging and gives us something to look forward to each day!

I love being a support worker because it allows me to build real connections, celebrate life's little wins, and make a meaningful difference. Even the smallest gestures can have a huge impact, and that's what makes this role so special.
I believe staying active is more than just movement, it builds confidence, independence, and a sense of belonging. Whether it's trying new activities, exploring the community, or simply enjoying a walk, being active brings joy and achievement.
